Gerard Cosmetics Highlighters | Star Powder | Swatches

I love a good highlighter in my makeup collection mostly just for the packaging why do makeup companies always create highlighters with such pretty packaging, and Gerard Cosmetics is one of them, who have released new highlighter to the makeup range with beautiful packaging and I am such as sucker for gold packaging.

Gerard cosmetics have released three different highlighter called the star powders in the shades Lucy, Marilyn and Audrey.

 

The shade Lucy has is a rosey shade with a hint of golden shimmer it also has an ultra velvety and finely milled texture. This highlighter gives dimension and looks nice mixed with your blushers.

 

The shade Audrey is a pretty warm champagne gold shade which gives your cheekbones a reflective and high shine look. Can be applied to the face lightly for a subtle sheen or can be built up to achieve an intense glow.

 

 The shade Marilyn has a golden shade with a ultra luxurious and creamy texture.

The MAC Matte Lip Collection | Swatches

We all love a matte lipstick well I know I do, and mac know we all do too as they have released an all matte lipstick collection included the infamous "whirl" and "stone" made into a lipstick, which I can already guess is going to be a sell out. This lipstick collection contains 18 lipstick in a variety of colours included both limited edition and permanent shade. I am aware that the matte lipstick collection has already been released within the us, However for all you beauties that live in the UK like me, we are all still sitting for hours refreshing the mac website waiting for it to pop up in the new collection category. 

So I thought that I would post a blog on the matte lipstick collection showing swatches of the lipsticks so that you can decide which ones you want to buy, I suppose this is the only good thing about the mac collection coming out in America first, it gives us time to look up swatches and other peoples first impressions/reviews before we decide to make an order. These lipsticks retail for $16/£17

If you are wondering what the difference is between the matte and retro matte formula, then in my opinion I feel that the retro mattes are much drier and I find them harder to apply to the lips, however they do last a little bit longer than the matte formula, therefore I would just recommend that you exfoliate your lips first and apply a lip balm to make sure that they are smooth and hydrated or the lipsticks may go a little flakey.


My favourite lipsticks from this collection are velvet teddy which I already own and use nearly everyday, Whirl, stone and tropic tonic. What ones are your favourite or that you are getting let me know in the comments below.

MAC x Giambattista Valli Collection | Entire Matte Lipstick Collection

I love mac cosmetics but its all about the limited edition collections for me, as I just love the packaging. And this is one of the mac collection I am really looking forward to as the packaging is to die for!
I love the fact that the lipstick packaging is the same shade as the actually lipsticks, so I haven't got to pull out about 10 lipsticks to find the colour I am looking for, which does happen most days.

This collection is said to be released on the 9th July in stores and consists of 5 limited edition lipsticks. Even though I love my lipsticks I am quite disappointed that the collection only incorporates lip products as this packaging is so gorgeous and it would have been nice to have a blush or bronzer in the same cute packaging.

The lipstick shades:

Bianca B - a light pink shade with a matte finish
Tats - a bright shocking pink shade with a matte finish
Margherita - a bright peach with a hint of yellow with a matte finish
Charlotte - a red with a yellow undertone with a matte finish
Eugenie - a dark cherry shade with a hint of blue with a matte finish

Crystal glaze lipgloss shade:

Lena - a clear shade with a hint of multicolored pearl

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips | Swatches

Yes! colourpop have done it again, My instagram has been going crazy over a picture that colourpop had posted, showing a collection showcasing 25 matte liquid lipsticks called the Colourpop Ultra Matte lip. The brand colourpop have only been around for 1 year and they have accomplished so much in this short space of time, and have became a very popular talked about brand, with they oh so affordable prices and great quality products that I am sure this is going to be another popular collection, which I am hoping to get my hands on.
